Sustainable Travel Discount – Vehicle-Free Camping

We’re pleased to introduce a discounted camping rate for guests who arrive without a vehicle. If you travel here on foot, by bike, or via public transport and stay onsite without a car, campervan, or motorhome, you can take advantage of this reduced rate.

This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to encourage more sustainable travel choices. Fewer vehicles onsite helps reduce noise, ease congestion, and lower environmental impact — while creating a more peaceful atmosphere for everyone staying here.

Located just 1 mile from Pooley Bridge, we’re ideally placed for walkers and cyclists, including those starting or finishing the Coast to Coast Walk. Travelling light now comes with an added bonus.

Who Qualifies?

You can book this discounted rate if:

  • You arrive on foot, by bicycle, or using public transport
  • You are camping onsite without bringing a vehicle
  • Your stay does not include a car, campervan, or motorhome on pitch

Why We’re Doing This

Encouraging greener travel is a small but meaningful step toward reducing our environmental footprint. By supporting low-impact travel, we hope to make it easier — and a little more affordable — for guests who choose sustainable ways to explore the area.

Day passes for non residents:

Available from reception (not online or over the phone) from 9am daily, limited availability:

  • £10 for parking
  • £25 for boat launch

Free for our camping, self catering and static owners.

Annual passes:

  • £120 for boat launching
  • £200 for boat launch

Discounted fees are available for pre-booked customers of Ullswater wake and surf and Fahrenhut Sauna.

When paying for parking or launching, use of Park Foot’s facilities are included in your visit.

If you are looking to go camping in the Lake District, then look no further than Park Foot Camping and Touring Park. Set on the banks of Ullswater, in the heart of the Lakes, we have three camping fields which all with electric hook up points, suitable for tents, caravans and motor homes.

Striding Edge field is situated close to the shop, has a playground and modern toilet/shower block. Has Wi-Fi (chargeable) . Has recycling area.

Sandall Field is situated closer to the reception area and TJ’s Restaurant/Bar. With toilet/shower block. Has Wi-fi (chargeable). 2 x Electric vehicle charging points located next to Sandall field, at the bike shed. Recycling area by reception.

Lakeside Field has access to Lake Ullswater, providing stunning, picturesque views for those long, hot summer nights. New toilet/shower block and barrier into lakeside field. Has Wi-fi (chargeable). Has recycling area.

We also have Fellside field and Euseriggs field which are for non electric camping pitches. Only accepts tents and camper vans. Fellside has a toilet block. Use showers in Sandall or above reception. For Euseriggs field, showers and toilets are located in Lakeside field.

There are drinking water taps placed conveniently around all the camping fields.

We want our guests to enjoy the experience of camping in Cumbria, so we endeavour to provide a friendly service and impeccable facilities. In doing so we hope our guests will continue to camp in the Lake District year after year, appreciating the beauty of Lake Ullswater, Pooley Bridge and our surrounding area.

PLEASE NOTE – We allow the use of raised BBQs, but campfires are not permitted.

Tents, Touring Caravans and Motor Homes

Electric hook up pitches (16 amp for Super electric pitches, 16 amp for Premium electric pitches and 10 amp for Standard electric pitches) are available on a fine camping gravel or hard standing to accommodate touring caravans, tents and motor homes. These must be booked in advanced. Car parking is on your pitch. A digital TV aerial is required in the Lake District to receive signal.
